Homemade South Tyrolean and Mediterranean dishes
Restaurant Stella in Novale di Laion on the road to Val Gardena offers regional and seasonal cuisine, an extensive wine list and an unparalleled family atmosphere.
Step into Hotel Stella’s cosy and lovingly decorated stube (typical dining room) with its traditional oven and modern-rustic flair. Host and chef Otto Prader will gladly treat you to seasonal delicacies, both at lunch and dinner. The restaurant mainly uses regional products and only serves locally sourced meat. Look forward to varied, high-quality, freshly prepared South Tyrolean and Mediterranean dishes, as well as a good selection of wines.
We serve homemade pasta, various Tyrolean classics, as well as excellent meat dishes, such as delicious ravioli filled with fresh chanterelle mushrooms, Zirmknödel - dumplings made from mountain pine, tender steaks from local beef and much more. Likewise, our sweet desserts, such as the South Tyrolean apple strudel or the Kaiserschmarren, shredded pancakes with lingonberries, are always worth trying.
In autumn, Hotel Stella is especially popular for its Törggelen wine harvest celebrations. In this South Tyrolean custom, which is especially widespread in the Isarco valley, traditional appetisers are served, such as Schlutzkrapfen (pasta filled with spinach and curd cheese), barley soup, mixed meat platters with fried pork ribs, sausages, sauerkraut, and finally filled Krapfen (typical sweets) and roasted chestnuts. To this we recommend fresh grape must and a young wine.
